The company quotes low price then charges an average usage per month daily. They round bill up.

I tested by turning everything off and using space heat 1st day dropped electricity usage from 46.58 to 38.61 2nd day zero heat dropped usage to 18.319kwh. My daily price for electric stay the same ZERO DROP. Scam!

There is a problem when you sit in the dark all day with no heat and they’re still billing you at five dollars a day times 30 is like $150-$180 and I’m sitting in the dark. No TV making sure nothing plugged in and I’m still paying way too much.

During that call we were able to resolve your concern for increased billing during the higher usage cold days. It can be very frustrating when you are doing everything you can to lower your usage (lights off, no TV, etc.) but the usage continues to increase. Even though lowering your thermostat can save you some money electric heat systems still need to run very hard to keep the temperature up when its cold This is due to poor insulation and inefficient heating units.

We are glad to hear that we have satisfied your concerns and that you plan on referring more customers to us. Thank you again for your time.

As follow up, this customer was emailed and called today to offer our new 6 month fixed rate plan. We are awaiting her call back. Customer is still with us and seems to be satisfied with resolve.

Acacia Energy has very competitive rates, great customer service and transparent, clear billing. We service tens of thousands of customers per month and satisfy 99.99% of them on a consistent basis.

Unfortunately customers only comment on this site when they are pissed, hence the name, and never when then are happy. Furthermore, most of the comments are like yours, completely anonymous, unverifiable and without specific facts.

Acacia's execute management team personally handles every complaint and has a great track record of resolving customer issues. If you take the time to read the company responses and not only the comment you will see many have a positive resolve if the customer gives us contact information.

Acacia Energy spoke to customer. Explained to customer that usage is automatically billed, based on daily read, electronically sent from customers TDU (Transmission and Distribution Utility, such as Centerpoint or Oncor).

We suggested she call TDU for meter test. But, after reviewing the actual daily billing in detail customer agreed that billing is likely accurate. Usage billing is 2 days behind and customer did not realize this. Customer usage did drop dramatically for the days customer took action to lower it.

Customer satisfied with usage review but wanted a fixed rate plan. Acacia Energy does have a fixed rate plan and is in the process of moving this customer to that plan.
